Feed Your Brand: RSS Style That Is

Like Tweet Pin it Share Share Email

logo to feed, brand your feed, dress up feedI want to make this post as quick and painless as possible. I know…shocking for me huh?! Today I want to show you how to increase your brand recognition through your RSS feed. In my opinion this is severely under utilized. So listen up. 🙂

What is Brand Recognition

This may seem like a dumb question, but in all actuality it is a necessary one. People need to understand that brand recognition can literally result in millions of dollars in company’s pockets. Oh, you want an example huh?

Nike. I don’t know anybody that doesn’t recognize the Nike swoosh. You can see that swoosh on a wall all by itself and you know that it belongs to Nike shoes. The second thing Nike did right was add text to that brand. Just Do It. Swoosh + just do it = BANK!

Look at every way Nike can capitalize on their brand, besides the logo on the shoes. T’shirts with the swoosh or the text. Hats, mugs, posters, commercials, bumper stickers….it’s all about the brand recognition. ( I know everyone of you wants a TFB bumper sticker!)

All makes sense to you now right? Good…now about you and your brand. It doesn’t matter what your logo is, you can promote that logo with your blog and your feed. Here’s how.

Add Logo To Feed

Let’s face it, feeds are kind of boring. I don’t take up too much time decorating my feed, but I do want my logo on my feed to further enhance my brand recognition. The nice thing about adding your logo to your feed header is that when clicked, it links right back to your blog.

What I have done with my logo on my feed is make it a bit brighter so that people will notice that it is there. My logo on my blog and what I am beginning to promote is “TFB.” So, I have been able to incorporate a brighter TFB textured logo into my feed header. Here is a screen shot for you.

You can see in the above image, I don’t have it all decked out in bells and whistles, but my “TFB” logo is bright and easily recognized. So, without further adieu… here is how you can add your logo to your RSS feed too.

  • Log into Feedburner account
  • Select feed you wish to optimize
  • Select “Optimize” tab
  • Select “Feed Image Burner” on left sidebar
  • Add your logo and link information. See below

add keywords to feed image

I chopped it up a little on the bottom, but you get all the necessary information in the text. Specify your image source, the URL, and your title and link. All done. Now you have some brand recognition on your feed and in effect, you are cross promoting your goods. Give yourself a pat on the back!

Okay, your turn. Tell me your thoughts and if you feel lucky, share this with the world!
