AdSense Tool: They Put WHAT On Your Blog?!

adsense tool, advertising on blogs, adsense for blogsEver visit a blog that utilizes AdSense advertising and see some wacko looney ads? Seriously, what AdSense tool are they using?!  I’m talking specifically about blogs that have reputations, not blogs set up solely for ads.  I mean, you pop over to a link building blog and right there on the sidebar, for all the world to see, is a pretty little banner about dog poop utensils. Huh? They put what on that blog?!

The AdSense Stigma

For whatever reason, many many people dislike AdSense ads on blogs. They do not like visiting blogs that have these types of ads displayed. I don’t know if it’s the formatting or because they don’t specifically know the advertisers.

I, personally am okay with seeing the ads, within reason. I’m pretty quick to spot blogs that are created specifically to place ads all over the place and make some cash. I also partake in a little AdSense lovin’ myself.

I have one ad and I prefer the banner image to text. Why? I think it looks better and it not so in yo face. Yes, I meant to say YO! But I digress…..I like my ad….I specified targeted keywords for my blog and my niche to keep it relevant.

I also make money from advertisers placing their banners on my site, so I want to stay with the banner image method.( just coined a new term! BIM for short.) So, to keep this argument brief, on my end anyways, less is more and I’m okay with that. 🙂

Cool AdSense Tool

Alright, I find a lot of blogs worth hopping, so I see a ton of cool stuff. On the flip side, I see a lot of doody head stuff too. I’m not naming names, actually I probably never got the name in the first place. 🙂

I literally was visiting a blog about social media reputations, and AdSense was enabled in the sidebar. The ad was about role playing as Batman and Robin! Uhmmm…… now a perfectly intelligent, legit post was skewed by this ad. I mean, the more I read, the more the visual kept creeping slowly into my optical orb burning my retina.

I considered leaving a comment, but I thought, hey…your blog, your rules remember? Maintaining my blog etiquette is key here..:)

So I went off in search of finding a way that people could help themselves out in this area. Besides the fact they could easily exclude Batman and Robin role playing in their set up of their campaigns, I thought more help might be needed.

Voila! I found a pretty cool AdSense tool that would show them EXACTLY what ads would display on their sites, right now. You can simply input your URL in the little texty box thingy and EEE GADS Batman, the ads pop up. Here is a screen shot of my blog using the tool. You can see, all relevant ads returned. Most of this is due to the campaigns I set up.

It’s important to utilize your keywords when setting these kinds of things up. If you specify nothing, you get everything! ( I just noticed there is 1 ad in here for dog food! ) haaaa. Well, one ad out of the many is still positive. 🙂

The best thing is that I can grab some keywords off of here as well. Then I can check out how these ads will display with my banner image method.  I likey.

So, now that you want to see about that role playing thing, check out your site below to see what ads you get to display.Go play in the AdSense sandbox.

I would appreciate it greatly if you liked this to share it with your readers. WAIT!! Before you go, what ads returned for you and what’s the strangest ad you saw displayed??
