The Journey Doesn’t End, But A New One Begins

Like Tweet Pin it Share Share Email

blog sale, sold blog, saying goodbyeWell, I knew this day was coming for some time now…and many of you may have already seen the information. But, it is official, as of today, I no longer own The Friendly Blogger.

As I have mentioned many times before, boring you to tears I am sure, I simply do not have the time to manage this blog any longer. I tried to make it work for as long as I could, but having a regular full time job does not leave me much time.

It has been a harrowing process to say the least…trying to find someone who would take care of the site and continue to try and build it. I have found that person and assures me he wants to continue to grow the site as much as possible.

It’s actually a sad day for me. I put my blood, sweat and tears into this blog and have made some fantastic friendships and contacts. I can’t put into words how much I have learned from so many of you. Ughhh…I am starting to tear up now..:(

I have the same email address so if you still have questions, comments or whatever..please don’t hesitate to contact me. Help the new owner out too. He is relatively new to all of this, so be patient. (As bloggers are :)))))

I initially started this journey to try and make money online. Go figure, now that the blog is making some money, I don’t have the ample time. So, I will be taking my online journey to some other projects. Static websites, freelance writing, etc… I may even start up a personal blog that would be easier to manage for me. I dont need to research myself!!

There is no way in hell I could ever mention everybody who has been with me step by step in this journey. But I have some special folks to mention. If I forgot you, please know it was not intentional. I have sometimers!! 🙂

In no particular order, I would like to thank these people from the bottom of my heart:

  • Ana Hoffman of Traffic Generation Cafe
  • Brankica Underwood of Live Your Love
  • Steve Scott of stevescottsite
  • Dino Dogan of DIYBlogger
  • Ingrid Abboud of NittyGriddy
  • Jayne Kopp of JayneKopp
  • Gail Gardner of Growmap
  • Chris Burns of Serpd
  • Devesh of TechnShare
  • Gini Dietrich of Spin Sucks
  • Gibby of An Enlightened Traveler
  • Marcus Sheridan of The Sales Lion
  • Sheila Atwood of NewbieLifeOnline
  • Michele Welch of NewBizBlogger
  • Patricia Millman of Lavender Uses
  • Elise of Elisesreview
  • Alicia Jay of TranscriptionE-Services
  • Bill Dorman of Billdorman.wordpress.com

I swear I didn’t mean to leave anyone out!!! I apologize again if I did.

So, I guess this is a momentary goodbye. I can now get back to visiting and commenting on all of your great blogs now. I have missed being able to just sit back and read your stuff.

I wish all of you well and much prosperity. I do have a new Twitter account that you can hop over to and follow me on if you fancy. This will be used for my new ventures too.

New Twitter for Lisa!

And before I forget, you can also grab your copy of my how to blog book, chronicling all of the knowledge with The Friendly Blogger.

Don’t be dismayed at goodbyes.  A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.  And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.  ~Richard Bach

  • What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.

  • Lisa,

I missed this post at first. I am sorry to see you go. I am glad though that you took the time to say goodbye. Often people just seem to fade and disappear.

Thanks for being a wonderful blogger and friend. I appreciate everything you have done and really wish you the best. Hopefully I will see you around now-and-then.

    Best wishes,

    Steve

  • Aww, sweet pea… I feel a little sad… for sure. I think though that sometimes we make these decisions not knowing exactly what the future holds. I’m thinking that if you keep your eyes wide open…and start a personal blog that great things will happen without the blood sweat and tears you have put into all the research and learning you currently do to provide us with all the incredible information.

You won’t be getting rid of me… (just sayin)… I’ll keep your email and follow your new twitter account.

When you get time, I would love for your to fill me in on all the gory details of your thoughts.

This Lisa will be a fresh new start. I don’t think you’ll be able to stay away completely… and now you may have a little extra time.

Keep us posted. Love you very much and thanks for mentioning me.

  • Lisa, I must admit, when I heard about his I was surprised because over the last year you’ve really done some amazing things with your blog. But hopefully, it will not feel like time wasted, but rather experience and relationships gained. As long as you continue to attack life with the same vigor and zeal that you’ve had with this blog, great things are in store for you.

So best of luck to you Lisa. You’re a talented gal and I have no doubt you’re going to do great.

    To your new beginning—

  • Now I’m tearing up……..

I made a list; I hate that it took you going out to do so.

I’m sure this has been a very difficult decision for you and my guess is you almost pulled the trigger before when you disappeared for a month.

I only wish you the best in your new journey and certainly hope we still see your smiling ‘friendly’ face around these parts.

You have been a real sport to put up with me and I’m so glad we got to know each other.

    Godspeed!

  • Hey Lisa good luck with your next endeavors. I know personally how hard it is to turn the page on something you’ve worked so hard on. Ultimately you have made a hard decision and can move forward and kick ass on what’s next (and what’s already in progress).

Best of luck on everything. I’ll be seeing you on the Internets.
