Link Building: What’s Up Doc (sharing)?!

Like Tweet Pin it Share Share Email

I relink building, document sharing, high pagerankalized the other day that it’s been awhile since I addressed link building here. So, off I went into the wilderness with my fishing pole and pork& beans to search for a tip. A tip worthy to present to you that hasn’t been beat to death already. I wanted an untapped opportunity to bring to you.

Enter What’s Up Doc, sharing a doc that is.ย  I know you are so totally intrigued right now, I can feel it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Document Sharingย  Builds BackLinks

Document sharing sites generally hold high authority in the search engines. What these sites do is allow you to upload your report, book, article, whatever into a file sharing system.

Complete with all of your links and yada yada…..your paper will be available publicly to the hoards of people searching for information. You choose your category to post in and off you go.

The beauty of document sharing is that you allow others free reign to use your paper, book etc for their own use. Now, your links are being spread even further. Searchers will also share your stuff via Twitter, Facebook, or whatever social medium they choose.

It’s as simple as creating a PDF file and uploading it to the document sharing sites. You also need to create a profile on the sites as well. Couldn’t be any easier. This in turn gives you links back to your site both in the profile AND in your uploaded document.

And some high pageRank backlinks to boot. *commence happy dance* For instance, one document sharing site I use is issuu.com. The homepage there has a PR of 8. Uhm, yippee…even though PR is not as important these days, I’ll take that big fat hoopty link! ๐Ÿ™‚

The Bottom Line

We all know the basics of linkbuilding. Blog commenting, forum posting, article writing, guest posting, etc….

However, there are other opportunities that can net you some sweet links from authoritative sites. Document sharing is one of those ways. The reports you upload will also present you as an authority in your niche. Who wouldn’t want that?! If you don’t want to be an authority or juicy links, then you need to reevaluate your goals.

Go write a fabulous report and upload to all of these places. Yes you can use the same report…and watch your link profile become more powerful than you ever imagined.

Let me have it people, what are your thoughts? Have you tried this linkbuilding technique?

Oh and please share this around the way! ๐Ÿ™‚
