Does Daily Posting Rank Better?

how often to post, rank better, rank more pagesI know you have all asked the question, how often should I post to my blog? Does daily posting rank better in Google? The age old dilemma; I know.

Daily Posting

You know if you are running your blog as a business and trying to rank better in Google, how much work that takes. Not only work, but time and research. It’s not easy to always come up with fresh, new and relevant topics to blog about. But you keep at it and plug away.

So should you post daily to rank better? I can tell you this much from personal experience. Daily posting helps you rank more pages, but does not necessarily mean better rankings. Another project I worked on earlier this year required that I post 2 times a day. A HUGE amount of info to come up with I know. It was tough. Here is what i think transpired from that test.

I ranked a ton of pages in Google. They didn’t have prime ranking however. But what I can tell you is that the more pages indexed and rank….the more authority that project received in Google’s eyes. After only 2 months, the next PR update occurred. The blog itself gained no PR; however, some of those inner ranked pages received PR.

Was it due to posting 2x a day? Maybe. I feel that perhaps it was due to that fact. Every page indexed put that blog more and more on Google’s radar. Therefore some of the older posts were being tweeted and liked. That in turn showed Google the posts were relevant and new information was coming at a swift pace.

Does anyone really know the answer? Should you start out posting every day to get your blog noticed? Then slow it down to create time for yourself once your brand is established?

I want to hear your thoughts on this. How often do you post and why?

  • I’ve been finding that I don’t necessarily get better SEO page rankings, but still get better blog community rankings when I post often. sometimes I just can’t post that often due to life getting in the way, but when I can post multiple times a week it helps drive more traffic to my blog. Sooo bonus in general.
