backlink indexing, how to index backlinksYou work so hard writing your content, seeking out backlinks promoting your posts. But, are your backlinks going to waste? Simply getting that backlink is not enough. You need to ensure those backlinks are getting indexed.

Indexing Your Backlinks

It’s imperative you don’t forget the most important task after gaining that precious backlink. Google may not crawl your site everyday, in fact, may be a few days before they get to you. Therefore, you need to get your information to them. You have to get those links indexed as soon as you can. Here are a couple ways to get your backlinks indexed.

  • Quality:  This means seek out high quality sites to gain backlinks from. The higher quality, the more Google crawls that site. Some of these sites are crawled daily, that means your backlink is getting attention and will be indexed. This goes hand in hand with NOT linking to bad neighborhoods. Spam, splogs etc will not get your backlinks indexed.
  • Double Link: Please dont confuse this with spam. All this means is that you should incorporate that backlink into an article. While you may think article marketing is a dying tool, you  are missing potential for quick indexing and traffic. When you gain a backlink, write an article and include that backlink in your article. Submit the article to article directories as well as number 3 below.
  • Tweet: Okay, I dont think we need to rehash the power of Twitter. Twitter links can spread instantly and those tweets are also indexed quickly in Google. So two ways to get those links out in the world: tweet the actual backlink within the post and tweet the article in which you included the backlink.

It’s not at all difficult to get your backlinks indexed in the search engines. The issue is that many Internet Marketers forget this little piece of the puzzle. Again, Google will not say, “oh wow, they grabbed a backlink…lemme head over there and crawl them.” You have to take the extra step and bring that link to them. Don’t let your backlinks keep going to waste!
