One Creative Way To Increase Facebook Fans

increase facebook fans

I’m sure it’s no surprise to anyone that Google reigns supreme in driving traffic to video sites. I mean, Google is the king of the world right?! Enter Facebook. Now the second largest source of video traffic, you can use this knowledge to increase your Facebook fan following.

How Big is Facebook Video Traffic?

According to TubeMogul, Facebook has taken over Yahoo (no surprise there) and has doubled it’s referral traffic in the last quarter. Where Google, Yahoo and Bing all fell in the third quarter, Facebook again showed it’s competitive edge. Pretty impressive for a social network whereas the rest are all search engines.

How To Use Video To Increase Facebook Fans

Assuming you have set up your business (fan) page on Facebook, this simple method could help you generate more of those almighty “likes.” Using the knowledge that FB video traffic is constantly growing, you can utilize this on your page and your website to make this work for you.

Whether you create your own video content or use a video from YouTube, you can increase your fan base easily. Simply upload your niche video onto your fan page. Then, grab the embed source code from the video and place it on your blog.

A note on selecting videos from YouTube: try and find videos with some of your keywords in the title. Also, choose a video that has a lot of RECENT hits. The easiest way to check this is by looking at the comment section of the video. If the last comment was 8 months ago, it’s likely most of the hits generated were that long ago. You can also click the “insight” button on the bottom right of the YT video to get more detailed info including who has linked to that video.

Okay, since the video is now on FB, when a visitor plays the video on your blog, a Facebook watermark will appear in the upper left hand corner. This is a clickable link that will take the user directly to your fabulous page! And of course, the almighty like button will be right there for them to hit…because of course they like you!

I’m A Little Slow

Now, I just got my FB page together for this blog…I know, I’m a little slow. But it’s started now and I uploaded a video from YouTube to my page, copied the embed code and placed it in this post. I chose a video at random, so don’t hold me responsible for the contents! Check it out and notice the watermark.

Voila! You should have been taken to my page or my video page and could like away. Here are more creative ways to increase your Facebook fans.

So let’s have it…what creative ways do you promote your Facebook page or how have you increased your FB following?

Lisa, this is really off topic, but I discovered your blog because of a comment you left on my blog. Glad I found this great resource. I have not created a Facebook page for my blog yet, and it isobviously an important step I need to take. Thanks for the useful advice.
