We all know Google is the king hoohah of search…but did you expect them to be the king hoohah of employers? I think I may have had a notion. So, I looked into into the benefits of joining Google. Not that I have half a brain to do so, but I thought it would be fun to see. I mean, what encourages these people to change the world more and more everyday? These benefits for starters.

Benefits at Google

I can say this for sure, if all companies offered up what Google does, attrition would be drastically reduced. One of the coolest benefits I saw was for new parents. For the first three months of being at home with your new demon baby, you can expense up to $500.00 a month for take out meals. Hoo hah!

Beyond, the regular health and wellness benefits, Google has amazing on site services for employees. Massage therapy, gourmet chefs for free lunch and dinner, oil changes…only to name a few. I might just plop down a cot and move in!! From Ceo Eric Schmidt:

The goal is to strip away everything that gets in our employees’ way. We provide a standard package of fringe benefits, but on top of that are first-class dining facilities, gyms, laundry rooms, massage rooms, haircuts, carwashes, dry cleaning, commuting buses – just about anything a hardworking employee might want. Let’s face it: programmers want to program, they don’t want to do their laundry. So we make it easy for them to do both.”

Eric Schmidt, CEO Google

I would say they not only have their finger on the pulse of technology, but on employee relations as well. If you are savvy enough to join Google’s workforce, I see no reason to ever leave! To see the full list of benefits offered by Google, click here.

So what do you think?? Would you ever leave?

  • Lisa,

I was just telling my sister about working for Google. I would love it. It would be interesting to see their production stats.

It is a good lesson. I work for myself and often miss taking good care of me.

Exactly Sheila! I would love to be inside there for a day and see the inner workings…or where they are hiding Amelia Earhart!! Actually, I just want to sit inside one of those fancy cubicle egg cylinder chair thingys!

      Thanks for stopping by Sheila
